So I was listening to this song tonight, and this line kind of stuck with me. You know, I've had a bad day, and I was thinking to myself..."in the darkest place we shine." Do we? Do I? It's one thing to go and be a missionary and "shine" in Bangladesh or somewhere (not that their job is easy), but...
In my darkest places do I shine?
Do I shine when I'm in a bad mood, and I'm overwhelmed with work that needs to be done NOW, and my students are being rude and talking back, and I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel...
Do I shine?
Something to think about...

I Want to Shine!
Okay, so my new favorite song is Charlie Hall's Walk the World. I have decided it is to become my new, personal theme song. I love the lyrics...
I've been broken, but I'm still singing. And I want to shine. If I believe that there is a God in Heaven, and He gave His son for you and me, how can I not? I cannot go around as if everything's all about me, because it's not! It's not about me. It's not about what I want. It's not about what I think I deserve, because it's nothing! I've tried my whole life to be a "good" person, but held up under a magnifying glass, frankly, I'm really not that good. Only Jesus really is. He's the only good thing about me. So when you look at me, I just hope you can see Him...
"Broken but singing, Our hearts keep shining...
Let my life shine, Come and let my heart shine..."
